CORRTEMP™ Ultrasonic Clamp-on Temperature Meter

Full service high accuracy temperature monitoring without cutting any pipes. From installation of hardware, electronic data acquisition, system commissioning, data collection and analysis, to the final measurement report, AMAG has you covered.

CORRTEMP™ Ultrasonic Clamp-on Temperature Meter measures the temperature of liquid in a pipe to within 0.5°C*.

How it works

AMAG’s unique CORRTEMP™ Ultrasonic Clamp-on non-intrusive temperature meters operate via cross correlation, by having two transducers installed perpendicularly to the pipe surface in diametrically opposing positions. These are used to measure the speed of sound in water. Once the pressure is known, the water temperature is calculated from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) water and steam properties tables. Accuracy of the temperature measurement and monitoring is within 0.5° C.

The average temperature is measured across the pipe cross section and is therefore not susceptible to errors from Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTD’s) or intrusive thermocouple devices caused by localized temperature gradients or thermal streaming. When used in conjunction with the CROSSFLOW™ system flow measurement accuracy is enhanced.

Cross correlation does not rely on the speed of sound, is not effected by temperature changes, or by harsh environments. We exclusively use cross correlation for all measurements, opposed to the transit time principle.
